I know that it was about a year and a half ago when I first stumbled upon Doctor Who for the first time. Before that I have never really heard of it so it was completely foreign to me.

It was just another semester for this psychology student. I would wake up, get dressed, eat, and go right on my merry way to school. One morning as I was flipping through the channels before I had to leave I came across an interesting show on BBC America. I caught part of the episode ofThe Hungry Earth. At first I was a bit confused, I wasn’t sure what was going on and I only knew that Doctor Who was not like other shows. At that point I decided to skim through to find one to record so I could figure this show out.

When I got home I sat down to watch my first full episode of Doctor Who this time it was Silence in theLibrary. I fell in love with the strange charm that this show had. David Tennant stole my heart and imagination and from that point I would set a recording in the morning and sit down in the evening to watch the episodes. It was my show from that point. Even my Mother and brother would watch it with me sometimes (though I was unsuccessful in making them into Whovians).

Doctor Who to me is special it brings me a sort of joy when I watch it because of all the imagination in the story. I have watched every episode with the 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctor that have been aired and I am still quite an avid fan of the series! I got my friend Sarah into it as well and I am slowly trying to get my younger sister into it. After all Doctor Who is even better when you have people to share it with.

Though I do miss David Tennant being the Doctor I love Matt Smith he has his own charm as the Doctor and I can’t wait for the new season!
